A Tenerife Diary, Eric Ennion
Land Marks & Sea Wings

Land Marks & Sea Wings by John Busby

John Busby, who died in 2015 at the age of 87, was unrivalled among artists of his generation in his ability to capture the movement and vitality of birds. He applied the same acute observation, and ability to eliminate what was unimportant, to the whole natural world; landscape and birds were twin passions throughout his life. In Land Marks & Sea Wings, published in 2005, John's paintings and drawings spanning more than half a century are accompanied by his perceptive writings. From the Yorkshire of his youth, he takes us to his adopted Scotland and on his worldwide travels in search of the wildlife and living landscapes which inspired his art. The book ends with a trip to the Galapagos Islands where, 190 years ago, Charles Darwin found a key to unlock the mysteries of evolution, and where today we can still marvel at the extraordinary diversity of the natural world.

160 pages (300 x 250 mm). Colour illustrations and drawings throughout.
